My Blogging Thoughts

Although I've never blogged before I found this assignment very interesting. The internet is such an important medium for information exchange today and blogging is just another tool to get information onto the proverbial wire. I like the fact that anyone can be published by themselves and have their voices heard. I also like the fact that I can pick up more information specifically targeted for me (a gadget junkie) by subscribing to some of the technology blogs I chose as part of this assignment.

I do have friends that blog and mentioned this assignment to one of them whose page I visit fairly often (at least once every couple of weeks) and had my eyes opened a bit to another side of blogging I would like to share.

As I said I would visit this friends blog every so often and noticed it had been down now for over a month. I asked him what was going on and was told that he took it down temporarily due to the fact that he is currently looking for a new job opportunity.

It's not that he has something bad on his blog but his name could be Googled by a potential employer and his beliefs could be on display. So I think everyone has to keep in mind that if you blog then your political, religious or other beliefs are out there for others to see.

Here's a picture of my dog "Jagger". He's named after Rolling Stones legend Mick Jagger who is one of, if not my favorite musicians. Jagger is a 2 year old English Yellow Labrador Retriever who's favorite thing in the world is EATING!

Hello All,

My name is Mike Kascak and I'm a student at Foothill College in Los Altos California. This is my first attempt at "Blogging" so here it goes.

A little bit about myself:

I'm originally from Boston Massachusetts and moved to California with my family when I was 12 years old. I love the weather here, it sure beats three feet of snow! I'm a huge sports fan and although I moved here at a young age I'm still a fan of the Red Sox, Celtics, and Bruins!

I also enjoy reading in my spare time. Some of my favorite authors are Michael Connelly, Dean Koontz and of course Stephen King. If you like mysteries then you can't go wrong with any of these authors.
