My Blogging Thoughts

Although I've never blogged before I found this assignment very interesting. The internet is such an important medium for information exchange today and blogging is just another tool to get information onto the proverbial wire. I like the fact that anyone can be published by themselves and have their voices heard. I also like the fact that I can pick up more information specifically targeted for me (a gadget junkie) by subscribing to some of the technology blogs I chose as part of this assignment.

I do have friends that blog and mentioned this assignment to one of them whose page I visit fairly often (at least once every couple of weeks) and had my eyes opened a bit to another side of blogging I would like to share.

As I said I would visit this friends blog every so often and noticed it had been down now for over a month. I asked him what was going on and was told that he took it down temporarily due to the fact that he is currently looking for a new job opportunity.

It's not that he has something bad on his blog but his name could be Googled by a potential employer and his beliefs could be on display. So I think everyone has to keep in mind that if you blog then your political, religious or other beliefs are out there for others to see.
